In autumn 2016, I went to Tehran to learn Persian at the Dehkhoda International Center for Persian Studies. These three months transformed me, so much so that I returned for another six months in 2018, and then for two month-long road trips in 2019 and 2020. The global pandemic and the wars have prevented me from returning, but this place and its people remain close to my heart.
